Aldi and Lidl added 800,000 shoppers
Aldi and Lidl secured another 800,000 customers despite multiple price cuts announced by rival supermarkets to keep customers. According to the latest figures from consumer intelligence firm NIQ, nearly two-thirds of UK shoppers have bought goods from the two outlets in the past four weeks. Although supermarkets have slashed the prices of basic necessities to attract discounters, the figures point to the success of Aldi and Lidl.
